i carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)
i want no world (for beautiful you are my world,
my true) and it's you are
whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Evan made another visit in my dreams last night. He, I and Jeff were all attending a college class together. I asked Evan if I looked dumb with my iPod wrapped around my neck. He smiled and told me no. I noticed he wasn’t wearing glasses and seemed to be in perfect health. He said, “Mom, I need to get my wallet. If I’m going to be at school all day, I’m going to need to buy some snacks.” I put my arm around him and we all walked down the hall together. I guess one way or another I’m going to see my son go to college. If only in my dreams.

You may have noticed a new message board on this site. Don’t let it scare you it’s really quite simple to use. We needed to add a password protected board in order to get rid of the hackers. They were attacking nearly every day. All you have to do is register with a username, then you’ll receive a password through your email. After that, you’ll simply log-in to leave a message or comment on someone else’s message. You don’t have to register to read messages, just click on the “Recent Messages” link to see what’s been posted. Or, click on the link at the top of the page to read previously posted messages (from the old message board).

Thank you to everyone who has responded and mailed in their registration forms for evanwalk, so far. If you haven’t sent yours in yet, be sure to go to evanwalk.com, download a registration form and mail it in by April 10 (to guarantee yourself a shirt). And, be sure to share our page at facebook.com/evanwalk with your friends.

A huge shout out to our growing list of Corporate and In-Kind Sponsors – Prairie Heart Institute at St. John’s Hospital, BOS, RW Troxell Insurance Co., St. Brendan Church (our adopted Parish in Ormond Beach, FL), HIP Advertising, Mid-America Advertising and the McGrath/Friedrich/Wort/Mishkel Families. Your generous support is much appreciated!

A lot of people have asked how far they have to walk. Lincoln Park has a 1-mile loop as well as a slightly shorter three-quarter mile loop. You’re welcome to walk either or neither. You can run, jog, skip or just bring a lawn chair and visit. The day is really about being together and remembering the special boy we carry in our heart.

As mentioned in our last update, plans are taking shape for “evanwalk,” a special event to honor and remember Evan on Sunday, May 1, his birthday. He always loved a party and even last year – mere weeks before he passed away, he insisted on a family celebration.

For complete event details and to register, please go to www.evanwalk.com. You’ll also find us on Facebook under “evanwalk.”

You’ll notice a “smiley” face in the logo, which Evan was famous for drawing. It was also the first “sign” we received from him after he passed. Blue was his favorite color.

We would love a big crowd, so feel free to share this event with your family and friends.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us thus far, we love you.

More soon!
