I thought of you guys on the anniversary, and how tough it must have been. You guys are amazing, turning this grief and pain into so many positive things, and helping the rest of us understand better what's really important in life.....Evan is so proud. My heart is always with you....Thanks!

Hello Dear Hoffmans:)

My family and I continue to think about Evan nearly on a daily basis. We think and pray for you both as well. We so wish we could have been at EvanWalk. We visit family back home in Spfld IL once a year and last year it happened to be in October. I bet the walk was amazing. We were definitely there in spirit.

We had written to Evan one time to tell him about how we had become bird rescue members here in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Well, my oldest son, Austin, and I continue to find orphaned or injured birds who need our help. Some of our most interesting have been a turkey vulture that had been hit by a car, a pelican, and not a bird but a baby squirrel.

You would not believe how many smiley faces and origami cranes I have seen over the past year. Including origami crane earrings that were amazing.

Bunches of love and hugs from the Byrds!
Tia, Daniel, Austin, Kelton, and Billie Elise:)

I'm so glad the message board is back!
I wear my Evanwalk t-shirt about once a week and thinking of that day always brings a smile to my face....especially when I think about the aviation difficulties with the balloons and that one tree!
You guys are never far from my mind and ALWAYS in my heart. XOX

In celebration of Evan . . .

I entered my first 5K. All proceeds went to Siteman Cancer RESEARCH. Yeah! In December, I will run another in celebration of Evan at St. Jude. Know that my girls who never met Evan now know him. We've followed all of the pictures you've posted, and they loved the origami hanging from the ceilings. When I see smiley faces, I think of Evan. With a 3 and 5 yr-old, we see and create a lot of smiley faces. Love to you! :)

Thanks for bringing back the old message board! We still have "We Love Evan" bookmarked and visit often to look at his sweet face! Thinking of you both, and of course we always think about your wonderful boy!
